Photoemission "experiments" on holographic lattices

چکیده
We construct a 2D holographic ionic lattice with hyperscaling-violating infrared geometry and study single-electron spectral functions (“ARPES photoemission curves”) on this background. The spectra typically show three-peak structure, where the central peak undergoes crossover from sharp but not Fermi-liquid-like quasiparticle to wide incoherent maximum, broad side peaks resemble Hubbard bands. These findings are partially explained by perturbative near-horizon analysis of bulk Dirac equation. Comparing Green in imaginary frequency model obtained quantum Monte Carlo, we find that provides very good fit function. However, information loss when transposing frequencies implies deeper connection Hubbard-like models remains questionable.

Photoemission “experiments” on holographic superconductors
We study the effects of a superconducting condensate on holographic Fermi surfaces. With a suitable coupling between the fermion and the condensate, there are stable quasiparticles with a gap. We find some similarities with the phenomenology of the cuprates: in systems whose normal state is a non-Fermi liquid with no stable quasiparticles, a stable quasiparticle peak appears in the condensed ph...
متن کاملHolographic Experiments on Defects
Using the AdS/CFT correspondence, we study the anisotropic charge transport properties of both supersymmetric and non-supersymmetric matter fields on (2+1)dimensional defects coupled to a (3+1)-dimensional N = 4 SYM “heat bath”. We focus on the case of a finite external background magnetic field, finite net charge density and finite mass. At high frequencies, we discover a spectrum of quasipart...

The Hamiltonian of classical anti-de Sitter gravity is a pure boundary term on-shell. If this remains true in non-perturbative quantum gravity then i) boundary observables will evolve unitarily in time and ii) the algebra of boundary observables is the same at all times. In particular, information available at the boundary at any one time t1 remains available at any other time t2. Since there i...
متن کاملElectrical Transport and Photoemission Experiments of Alkylphosphonate Monolayers on GaAs
We report on electronic transport measurements through dense monolayers of CH3(CH2)nPO3H2 molecules of varying chain lengths, with a strong and stable bond through the phosphonic acid end group to a <100> GaAs surface and a Hg top contact. The monolayers maintain their high quality during and after the electrical measurements. Analyses of the electronic transport measurements of junctions, and ...
